1. Female / 25-30 yrs. / Latin American. MARIA JOSE: - middle aged writer, immigrant from South America. Fluent in Spanish and English. She is a soft spoken, patient woman who has suffered a lot of criticism from her family in friends back home for her decision to write. Actor will play 'Maria Jose' from aged 19-34. Main character.
2. Female / 18-24 yrs. / Latin American. RAMONA:- is Maria Jose's friend in her teenage years. She follows typical Latin American values making her not understanding of Maria's desire to write. Must be fluent in Spanish.
3. Male / 41-50 yrs. / Latin American. UNCLE PEDRO:- is Maria's uncle. He is a boisterous man who sticks to tradition and is quite stubborn in his ways. Must be fluent in Spanish.
4. Female / 41-50 yrs. / Latin American. AUNT MARTA:- is Maria's aunt. She is a sharp-witted woman with a good heart but is narrow minded and sheltered from the world outside her own. Must be fluent in Spanish.
