9 breakdowns:

1. Male / 61+ yrs. / Caucasian. OLDER FRANK. A tired old man living with his sister in a split level outside Halifax, Nova Scotia. Frank has lived on the same street he built sixty years prior, just off Herring Cove Road. He's been a laborer all his life, and still holds the large stature that served him in his younger years. He's recently had bouts with intestinal cancer, which makes evident the colostomy bag that hangs and gurgles by his side. He takes pleasure in visitors, phone calls from relatives and sitting out on his back porch when the weather suits it.

2. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Caucasian. OLDER JEAN. A saint of a woman who's taken almost sole responsibility of looking after and worrying over her ailing father. She has long since moved from Nova Scotia but spends a lot of her summers and any other free time visiting her father Frank when he falls ill. She loves her job as an in-classroom tutor for underprivileged children. She's completely selfless and will always look out for those in need before herself.

3. Male / 31-40 yrs. / Caucasian. OLDER TOM. Tom has worked as the head credit manager for an international chemical trades company based out of Toronto, Ontario for 30 years. He owns a lake front condo, makes a very comfortable living and frequents warmer climates around the world multiple times a year. After growing up in a very low income family, he made a promise to himself to solve his financial difficulties. This obsession consumed him for most of his adult life which resulted in his missing out on raising a family.

4. Male / 31-40 yrs. / Caucasian. YOUNGER FRANK. One of 6 siblings of a Cape Breton coal miner from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. FRANK has known nothing other than the struggle of the working class. With his growing family, FRANK spends his days working long hours at a local dairy plant trying his best to provide. He's modest and only speaks when absolutely necessary.

5. Female / 6-10 yrs. / Caucasian. YOUNGER JEAN. A happy-go-lucky young girl who's still naive to her low income upbringing.

6. Male / 11-14 yrs. / Caucasian. YOUNGER TOM. Leads a typical life growing up in a blue collar family from Nova Scotia. He's the first born son who's just starting to make sense of the world around him. This leaves him quiet and glum most of the time. He often takes on a lot of adult responsibilities and occasionally drives a laundry delivery truck for extra money.

7. Female / 25-30 yrs. / Caucasian. FRANCES. Frances is from Cape Breton with a working class background. She's a tired mother of 3 who seems to be growing distant from her family.

8. Male / 6-10 yrs. / Caucasian. DONNIE. The youngest son of the family who's too young to realize he'll grow up poor and underprivileged. His tragic death early on has profound impacts on the psyche of the family, an incident that is kept quiet due to its mysterious nature.

9. Male / 25-30 yrs. / Caucasian. NEIGHBOR. A quiet, unassuming neighbor who frequently cuts through the family's backyard on his way to work. He generally keeps to himself and smiles warmly to the children playing in the yard.
