SYNOPSIS:
DANIEL is an alcoholic painter who one morning wakes up and finds that MARLENE - his wife - is dead besides him. The night before, the couple - who seem to be living between hell and heaven in an entangled relationship - had a big fight while they were both drunk. However, there are not signs of blood or violence on Marlene's body, nor are there in the room. Besides, everything indicates they might be loving each other again when they went to bed. What happened? He would have to face the question as he deals with his worse fear.

1. Male / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. Requires Nudity. DANIEL: Daniel is a talented, passionate and visceral abstract and expressionist painter. All his life he has been debating between defending his space to connect to his internal world or getting afraid of being left completely alone. He is a survivor, a man who deals everyday with his demons and nightmares and spells them out through his work. At the same time, he is a man who doesn't know how to retain with a healthy love the woman beside him whom he loves.
2. Female / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. Requires Nudity. MARLENE: Marlene is a classical piano player. A scientist of music. A woman with sensitivity and structure at the same time. Her life and world were pretty much in order until she met Daniel. His passion, talent and creativity took her to a new world she hadn't really explored before. Now, she is entangled in a relationship which is driving her crazy, but she can't leave, as much as she would like to. Struggling with a partner that is destroying himself and everything around him, she ends up going down to hell for him, without knowing how to come back alive.
3. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. MICHELLE: Michelle is a mother and Daniel's student. She is happily married, and enjoys his children and her simple life. In the past, she had an affaire with Daniel.
4. Male / 51-60 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. GRAHAM: Marlene's ex-lover. He is a handsome widow, a mature, down to earth surgeon, with the taste for the arts to fall in love with Marlene and make her happy in a loving, caring and healthy relationship.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Victor Eduardo Gomez is an actor, director, writer and photographer. He has a BA in Journalism and Media communications, a Degree in Theatre, and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Film Studies at Ryerson University and starting a MFA in Theatre Directing at York University.
He has made Ricardo Against Ricardo, his short Adaptation of Shakespeare’s Richard III - which won best Canadian Experimental at the Alucine Festival and was official selection in multiple festivals in the US and Canada. He founded Under the Light Theatre, which presented its first full length production of Lizardboy at the Allende for Peace Arts Festival - co-directed with Sheena D. Robertson - and was invited to the Obsidian International Playwrights Festival and awarded the Development Grant for 2008 from The Colores Festival.
He has also been developing the feature film documentaries,Searching For Oscar - an evaluation of peace in El Salvador, and, Digging for Justice - an investigation of the trial into the Guatemalan genocide, lead by Mayan Nobel Peace Price winner, Rigoberta Menchu and more recently he has been finishing writing his first fictional book The Vulture's Spiral. Other directing film credits include: Kiss Me Like The Night, Still Here, Dejavou, Game Over, and Reality Lays Where The Real Lies.
