Production: The Great Painting Heist (Short Film)

SYNOPSIS:
Two thieves plot the heist of an expensive painting. They get tipped off by the janitor working there who helps them with their plan. They dress up as cops to fool the curators working there, and then they dress up as the curators to fool the real cops. In the end, our heroes are successful and make the getaway in time. (based on a true story)

AUDITIONS: Please read the following information carefully!
Monday Sept 21st 2009: Ryerson University, Victoria Building room 501 from 5pm - 7pm (On Victoria Street behind Bond Street on map - designated VIC)
Tuesday Sept 22nd : Ryerson Univeristy Victoria Building room 714 from 6pm - 8pm
The auditions will be held at Ryerson University in the Victoria building.
This will be an "OPEN CALL" audition as we do not have the time to schedule individual auditions. You have two days from which to choose so hope that you are able to make it on one of those days.
*** For people who are auditioning for roles of CURATORS/COPS--please familiarise yourselves with both parts, as we may have you read both because they are similar secondary characters.
*** PLEASE be available for the TWO HOURS on either evenings for Monday 5-7 or Tuesday 6-8, as we may ask you to stay for callbacks right after your audition to read with other actors.
At this time, we are not accepting any video auditions because of the short time period remaining.
We are shooting Sept. 26/27--Please have both days free and be ready for late-night shoots.
For those who are successful in joining the cast, there will be craft service on the day of the shoots and DVDs given once the final product is finished. To reiterate- this is a NON-PAYING, student film.
Please bring TWO headshots/resumes with you. There will be a cold read for the part for which you are auditioning.

1. Either gender / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. COP 2: A little slow, smug, stereotypical 'cop' personality... if you know a cop that can act, give him/her this casting call.
2. Either gender / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. COP 1: A little slow, smug, stereotypical 'cop' personality... if you can be a cop, come out and audition.
3. Male / 25-30 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. CURATOR2: A younger man, suited up
4. Male / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. CURATOR 1: middle aged man, suited up
5. Male / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. SIMON: The janitor who tips them off and helps them get in (open appearance, ethnicities) Looking for an older actor who has good comedic timing and physical acting skills.
6. Male / 25-30 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. REGGIE: Talkative, physically 'smaller' partner. high-strung, the 'brains' of the duo. can be a little younger 18-24.
7. Male / 25-30 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. TOM: Quiet demeanour hiding a harder, violent personality, tough, buff and likes coffee. A LOT. Actor must be comfortable with physical acting and not saying much.
