Synopsis: Leysa, a young girl from Spain, moves to Canada with no knowledge of the English language. Unable to adapt quickly, she meets a boy named Cody who befriends her regardless of their language barrier. With few words said and many gestures, the two begin to find ways to communicate with each other. When communication goes wrong, Leysa must learn to use more than gestures to help her new friend in trouble.

1. Female / 6-10 yrs. / Hispanic. LEYSA: 8 year old girl who grew up in Spain and is FLUENT IN SPANISH, but doesn't speak English. She recently moved to Canada with her family, leaving her friends behind. She is shy, but also creative and adventurous. Her favorite doll, "Lolita", is her best friend. Leysa hates the idea of living in Canada but feels drawn to her neighbor Cody whom she befriends despite their Language barrier. [Lead role - Spanish language]

2. Male / 6-10 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. CODY: 8 year old boy who suffers from temperamental asthma. He enjoys playing with his army toys and in his tree fort. He is never shy, likes making new friends and is adventurous, but also careful of danger. Cody is a good son and follows his mother’s orders. He doesn't know how to be a friend with girls, so when he meets Leysa he tries to push her around and play in the mud with her like he does with his other friends. [English language]

3. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. CODY’S MOTHER: Mid-aged woman raising her son Cody by herself with child support from her ex-husband. She is a loving mother but also keeps strict supervision and time limits. When Cody first meets Lesya, she isn’t trustworthy of Leysa. She is very protective of Cody with whom she associates herself. 4. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Hispanic. LEYSA’S MOTHER : Mid-age woman who grew up in Spain her whole life. She is fluent in Spanish and understands a little English. Her husband’s job placement in Canada moved the family in hopes for a better life.[Spanish Language]

5. Male / 31-40 yrs. / Hispanic. LEYSA'S FATHER: Mid-aged man(35-45) who grew up in Spain. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. He accepted a better wage and moved his family to Canada. [One line role - Spanish Language]
