SYNOPSIS: Owen, a socially awkward little boy, finds he can express himself through his drawings of Spaceman X. He tries to impress his classmate Lisa, but his insecurities hold him back. He tries to escape his home life, which consists of a pestering little sister and a demanding mother. He comes to embrace his talents and realizes what is important in his young life.

1. Male / 6-10 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. OWEN is a socially awkward eight year old boy trying to gain the acceptance by his peers. He escapes his isolation by his classmates and his uninspired home life by creating unique drawings and stories. He tries to gain acceptance by getting the attention of his classmate Lisa. He eventually finds that this sense of belonging can be filled by his little sister Sarah, who appreciates his talents.
2. Female / 6-10 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. LISA is an eight year old girl who is part of the popular kids in school. She likes Owen and is flattered by the attention he gives her. She is trying to fit in herself and she feels that by being Owen's friend she can jeopardize her acceptance by the popular kids.
3. Female / 0-5 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. SARAH is the younger sister to Owen. She is four years old and has just started school. She is care free and likes her older brother. She also wants acceptance from Owen and is entertained by his drawings and stories.
4. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. THE MOTHER is a single mother of two children, Owen and Sarah. She is a busy working 35 year old woman. They are a low income family. She is a responsible mother for the most part but she tends to put them aside for the sake of work and putting food on the table.
5. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. MRS. MILLER is Owen’s Teacher. She is warm and caring and is the authority figure in the classroom. She is the contrast of Owen’s mom.(one speaking line)
