French-English bilingual preferred
Caucasian, shorter, heavyset, hardworking, mai'tre d' for a sophisticated
restaurant. He is a friend to the French Resistance but has avoided taking
any Nazi’s lives into his own hands. His patience has been worn thin from a
long career in an over worked under paid job at the restaurant which has
now become over populated with Nazis.
French-English bilingual preferred
Caucasian, thin, scruffy former street urchin. Capable yet sometimes
absentminded, he has been working as a cook and assisting Michel’s
involvement with the resistance as he wishes to join the rebellion.
French-English bilingual preferred
Caucasian. The local head Gestapo. Tall intimidating features. He was a
young man when he fought and survived WWI. Now he has slowly risen
through the ranks of the Nazi regime. Heinrich is arrogant and investigative
with a heavy drinking problem.
Lean and relatively tall. Lloyd is Victory Man, a young and awkward
superhero who has recently become distressed at his superhuman abilities.
He's insecure in his role and also annoyed with it because it requires him to
be on call at all times.
Scruffy looking busboy at a restaurant with a heavy accent. He's a dodgy
character and an opportunist who seeks to exploit Lloyd's superhero status
for money.
A young gangster wannabe who puts up an edgy front with his attitude and
clothing. He's a rich kid who is bored with regular everyday activities and
mugs people for thrills.
Caucasian. Michel is Maitre D’ of Café Justine, and a member of the French
resistance. He supplies Molotov cocktails to saboteurs. A typical French
restaurateur type - dark haired, moustachioed, animated. Becomes nervous
when engaged in resistance activities. Manages to hide his hatred of the
Germans when confronted, by becoming obsequious and compliant. Is
frustrated with his collaborators, especially the cook Jacques. French accent
preferred.
Caucasian. Cook, member of the French resistance. Jacques’ attitude toward
the Germans is irreverent. Feelings stem from personal resentment rather
than political ideals. A rather lazy person, looks for any opportunity to slack
off. Slightly overweight and appears oafish, but is clever, observant, and sly.
Is always on the verge of messing things up for Michel. When Michel and
Jacques do have a close call it is always Jacques’ quick wits that get them
out of a dicey situation. French accent preferred.
Caucasian. Member of the Gestapo. Truelsen is a regular customer at Café
Justine. Has a chip on his shoulder. Throws his weight around and drinks too
much. Aryan looking, but dissipated. Treats the French with contempt.
Enjoys going to Café Justine because of Michel’s solicitous flattery, but
Jacques gets under his skin. German accent preferred.
Caucasian. Tall, handsome, athletic, professional looking man who is rarely
seen taking off his thick-framed glasses. But only when the public knows him
as Lloyd, the sweaty carpet salesman. When his glasses come off, and his
chest reveals his signature "V", he is known to the world as Victory Man, the
superhero from a distant planet! While not selling carpets or stopping
bullets, Lloyd tries desperately to hold onto a relationship. Yet every time
he plans for a date, someone breaks the law. He grows tired of all the petty
crimes but never denies his duty as the saviour of the Earth!
Italian/European. Fat. Hairy. Greasy. Rolando is a very simple, and
homely man who has been bussing tables at the same Italian restaurant for
five years. He has very few aspirations in life and is approaching a time
where he needs to make a decision on where he wants to end up. Although
he seems happy, Rolando wishes he were someone much more substantial
and powerful, but he is cowardly and afraid to move forward and find a new
career path. An extreme bout of excitement surges through him when he
catches who he thinks is Victory Man, changing from a common citizen to a
world-class hero!
Any ethnicity. A clueless street thug. Charlie has been on his own since he
was nine years old. Growing up he always resorted to petty theft and small
drug deals as a means to get by in the vicious underground. Since the age
of twenty, he has been a henchman for a number of criminal masterminds
that have all since been foiled by Victory Man. After so many crushing
defeats and narrow escapes, he has grown a hidden liking and respect for
the hero, and underneath it all, he wishes that he had been dealt a life
where he wasn’t the bad guy. Broken, scrawny, and starving, Charlie
stumbles the streets in search of the next big event of his life.
A Middle aged man with a secret: he is the town's reigning super hero
Victory Man. Lloyd is somewhat self-absorbed with his personal image and
smugly considers himself better than the humans he has sworn to protect;
he sees them as children and himself as the babysitter. His goal is to
maintain his false identity and to continue his role as "babysitter" without
having to give up the average lifestyle he has become accustomed to.
A socially awkward, physically unattractive man who idolises Victory man
and is lucky enough to witness and photograph Lloyd's transformation as he
is about to go and fight crime. His goal is to prove to his family and friends
that he had this incredible encounter so that he can gain a higher level of
social status.
A typical delinquent and the cookie cutter example of the types of criminals
Victory Man has to deal with on a regular basis. Charlie is somewhat
unintelligent, more of a grunt or petty thief than a real gangster. His goal is
to rob Lloyd and Rolando, though soon after realising Lloyd's identity he
begins to think of new ways he can profit from the unlikely encounter.
Caucasian. Mysterious, attractive Scarlett Johansson type woman.
Intelligent, but experienced a very rough childhood that has led her into
prostitution. Despite this profession, she is very classy and smart, with a
vision of how she sees her future panning out. She has hidden inadequacies
brought on by molestation and mistreatment as a child. She is simply
looking for true love, and not the physical gratification that men have
previously gone after her for.
African-Canadian. Naïve, but with a solid head on his shoulders. He washes
dishes at a restaurant to help his single mother take care of him and his two
sisters. He has been witness to some of the social cruelties of the time
period, but does not accept the norms of society. He has, what he feels, is a
genuine attraction towards the WOMAN.
Caucasian/Italian. Hard-nosed, edgy and bossy. Louise runs a brothel in old
New York, and has seen it all when it comes to the business. She doesn’t
care much for her workers because they come and go all the time. She just
wants the business to make money so she can pay the bills and sleep well at
night.
Our main character is a former war veteran, working as a dish washer in
New York City. Disillusioned and alone, he watches the world pass by as a
distant observer. When he gets the courage to talk to Victoria, he realises
how loving her will change the rest of his life. He is a city-boy, turned
soldier, turned pacifist. Think a young Denzel Washington from beginning of
"Man on Fire."
Mysterious, seductive, intelligent, yet emotionally stilted, Victoria works
nights at a local brothel in New York City. Reading her nickel and dime
books, she dreams of a better life, but is slowly losing hope – until she
meets Johnny. He will show her a love she never thought she would
experience. Think of Lauren Bacall from "To Have and Have Not".
Louise is the over-protective, yet caring mother figure who runs the brothel.
She has a tough exterior shell (think Kathy Bates’ in Titanic), but a very soft
and gentle interior. A former employee, she has taken over the
business. Protecting women from life’s hard lessons of falling in love is her
mission in life. As such, she is sceptical about Johnny and Victoria’s
relationship.
Caucasian. Walking wounded. One track mind. Having lost both his lover and
his family to Nazi deportation, Michel has every reason to fight, and hate. By
day, he's a cook in a restaurant known for hosting Nazi parties. It kills him to
genuflect and make nice to them. He's also a member of the French
resistance. He took the job of chef in this restaurant to execute maximum
damage to the enemy, which he hopes will culminate tonight in the bombing
of a huge Nazi celebration. Michel chooses to ignore all else towards this
goal, including Jacques.
Caucasian. Introverted and easily underestimated; visibly vulnerable, but
quietly brave. She's madly in love with Michel, like "Eponine" for "Marius" in
"Les Mis" - and just as out of reach. Her hubris is her meekness; incapable
of expressing her feelings to Michel, all she can do cling to Michel's every
move and help him in any way she can. She's lost all her family as well, and
is working at the restaurant to survive. She never wanted to be part of the
resistance or any sort of fighting, but for Michel, she continually goes out of
her comfort zone in the hopes he'll one day reciprocate.
Caucasian. Gestapo. Alcoholic, Arrogant. Hugely self-entitled. Not so much
interested in killing Jews as he is in milking Paris for all it's worth. He wants
to exercise his authority over every civilian he crosses, just because he can.
He thoroughly enjoys himself. Tonight, he's on the prowl for more wine and
more women.
Caucasian. Aurora is a young and beautiful prostitute who has entered the
sex-trade industry as a result of poverty. Aurora’s character is strong, flirty
and intelligent, and she protects her inner purity by casting a cold exterior to
men. Her cynicism is turned to hope and optimism when the man she sees
every so often in the alleyway near her work shows her signs of affection
and desire even after he discovers that she is a prostitute.
Caucasian. Johnny is a calm, Johnny Depp-like character. He is an Italian
gangster who hangs out at a certain restaurant regularly and sees Aurora
there often. They are acquaintances, and he is enthralled by her looks and
wit. He is an optimistic man who keeps his composure at all times. Johnny
discovers that Aurora is a prostitute. He suspects this and does not seem to
be really affected by it. He thinks she is beautiful inside and out.
Caucasian and voluptuous. Louise wants her prostitution business to
flourish; she is Aurora’s boss. She is a loud, bitter and angry woman who is
annoyed to discover Aurora talking to Johnny. She can sense that Aurora
may be interested in the man which means that her business could suffer as
a result. Louise has had a hard life and has become hardened and somewhat
mean as a result.
Caucasian, attractive, well liked in the hospitality industry. His secretive
approach to two trafficking Molotov Cocktails allows him to have a sense of
risk in his life. He is over confident at times and his punctual way of running
his organised restaurant is losing interest among locals, because they sense
his personality is not genuine as it was in the past. Michel involved Jacque
because of his simple and smart approach to fine dining.
Open race. Respected cook. Simple and man of his word. Jacques has
become a trustworthy friend to Michel over the years because of his hard
work ethic. His dry sense of humour is liked by friends and co-workers.
Joined Michel’s restaurant because of his successful approach to
business. His outlook on life is well rounded but chooses not to climb the
ladder of success, but rather is content with his circumstances. Has lived in
the city for all of his humble and calm life.
Solid build. Caucasian. A member of the Gestapo. A man thriving on power,
and enjoys sleazy ways of getting things done. His crude glare is
intimidating. He is known among the Gestapo members to be mysterious
and suspicious.
Caucasian. Pretty. Intelligent but misguided. Aurora is a downtown
stripper/escort who is looking for a way into a better life.
Any ethnicity. Sleek, cool guy with a heart of gold. Xavier works as a
dishwasher at a diner. His concern for Aurora grows day-by-day because of
the life she’s leading.
Any ethnicity. Cougar appeal. Ex-stripper. Louise is the owner of a
gentlemen’s club where Aurora works.
Hank has amazing/ beautiful looks but he doesn’t have the talent, he is sick
and tired of being upstaged in Shakespeare plays. Hank seems to think he
knows Shakespeare perfectly but when he begins reciting lines in front of
Bob its clear he doesn’t have a clue. He’s very over the top, a very animated
personality.
Bob is a real down to Earth and doesn't have any problems with his acting,
or his Shakespeare facts. Bob is trying to make his friend realise by
correcting his mixed up facts about Shakespeare that he doesn't know
Shakespeare as well as he thinks he does.
The homeless man comes off as just a typical bum going through the
garbage, looking forward something to eat. But when Hank is forgetting the
lines to Hamlet, he bursts out and does an outstanding performance, proving
that anyone can act Shakespeare better than Hank.
